What makes Public Thread different?
We’re not just a sewing studio or a brand. Public Thread operates as a material driven platform combining product development, education, and textile recovery into one system.
Products & Custom Work
Do you make custom products?
Yes. We work with clients to design and produce custom goods using reclaimed, upcycled & recovered textiles, including billboards.
What kinds of products do you make?
Primarily sewn goods such as bags and textile based products, often developed in collaboration with clients or through internal design projects.

How do I donate materials?
We do not operate as a general donation drop off location. Materials are accepted primarily through project based work or established recovery partnerships. Click Here To Contact Us and Learn More
How does your material recovery process work?
We work directly with clients and partners to recover and repurpose specific textile waste streams into new products and opportunities.
Can my business work with you on textile waste?
Yes. We collaborate with brands, manufacturers, and organizations to develop custom material recovery programs.
Do you accept used clothing?
We do not accept used clothing as general intake.
Exceptions may apply within specific, pre-approved programs (such as structured partnerships).
Education & Workshops
Do you offer sewing classes for kids?
No. Currently we do not offer kids sewing classes. We do offer classes for anyone 16 years of age and up however.
How much do your sewing classes cost?

Do you offer 1-on-1 sewing classes?
No. At this time we do not but are planning on setting up a 1 on 1 program in the near future. Please keep checking back.
What are your current classes?

Do I need to bring my own materials or tools?
Most classes include materials and access to machines. If anything is required, it will be clearly listed in the class details.
You are always welcome to bring your own machine and tools however.
Do I need experience to take a class?
No experience needed. We offer beginner-friendly classes as well as more advanced workshops.
What is your cancellation policy?
We ask all cancellations take place 24hrs before the class.
Shipping, Returns & Exchanges
We use all major carriers and local courier partners. You’ll be asked to select a delivery method during checkout.
What is the shipping policy?
Once your order is placed, you will receive a confirmation email letting you know that our fulfillment team has received your order. Once your order is fulfilled, you will receive an email notification with your tracking information. Shipping fees are non-refundable in the case of returns. Full Shipping Policy Here
Do you ship overseas?
No. At this time we only ship domestically.
What is your Return Policy?
We offer a 30-day refund on all manufactured products. All fabric and materials sales are final. Please see our Full Return Policy Here.
